Sunil K. Raju
Sunil is first and foremost a trial attorney. Taking a case, no matter the facts and no matter the witnesses, and presenting it in the best possible manner before a judge or jury is what he enjoys. His litigation experience helps him to not only help clients seek justice in court, but he also helps clients avoid unnecessary, wasteful litigation through his keen understanding of the process.
Sunil began his legal career in 2007 as a Deputy District Attorney, where over the course of several years he investigated and prosecuted numerous criminal cases, including serious felonies. In private practice, he has litigated complex civil cases, including a contested lawsuit involving valuation of a multimillion-dollar business. He has tried over 100 cases to verdict in court, and has negotiated countless settlements outside of court.
“My clients benefit from my extensive experience in the trenches, where I have gotten real, frequent feedback from judges and juries on how they decide cases. I am not afraid to fight tooth-and-nail for my clients in court, and that helps them get good results, in court and in their settlements,” says Sunil. He appreciates that legal cases are often frightening and stressful to clients, has the heart of a teacher, and enjoys counseling them to help them make good and wise decisions.
Born in Chicago and raised in Forth Worth, Texas, Sunil considers himself an Oregonian and has called Oregon his home since 2003. “The Pacific Northwest is a real treasure, we are really blessed to enjoy all it has to offer,” says Sunil. He is happily married to his beautiful wife Christy, and they enjoy hiking, cooking, and traveling. Sunil loves to read, and is always reading several books at once.
Sunil’s assistant is Sara Long.
